Every year I have a ritual of listening for guidance for the coming year in a form of a Word. A Word that will offer me some direction and provide a layer of support.

In 2023 my word was Liquid (adj.). And oh man, did this word deliver… At times I felt so liquid that I was dissolving over and over, into the state of liquid connectivity, loosing and finding my Self.

Finding the right word is a listening practice for me.  And yesterday, in the morning of December 31st 2023 my word for 2024 finally arrived: Nectar

Regeneration. Healing. Medicine. Vibrant thick liquid nectar of somatic delight. Enchanted forest of the Bodyverse.  

The nectars of the trance consciousness pouring from your nervous system.

The nectars dripping down from the branches of the Tree of Life.

Repurposing the air into bliss.

Repurposing the movement into somatic nectar.

And so with this word I went for my morning walk today.

And I did a ritual of Entering through the Portal that I want to share with you:

1. If you have your Word of the year, you can do it with your word. You can also do it without. Maybe with an intention? Or just completely open to any information you might receive.  

2. You will need to find or create a Portal. It could be something at home or in Nature (like two trees, two stones, one tree and one stone, anything). It could be something you create (putting two branches, pinecones, stones on the ground). You could also create it with your own two index fingers or hands – starting with your hands together in front of you, and then opening them outwards. It also could be an energetic portal. You get the gist. We are creating a door to enter, a threshold to cross.

3. Then in front of your Portal you connect with your word or intention for the coming solar year.

4. You step over the threshold into the new dimension.

5. You might also want to ask: Please show me Me.

6. And then you listen. Listen for a wave of somatic experience. For a wave of information. For a wave of permission. For what might want to happen next. Some options would be: You might want to close the portal, or leave it open. You might want to make an offering to the Old, to the New, to the Portal, to the animate forces around.

7. In the coming days – listen for what might show up….  

Your Body is a doorway.
